North Ryde. Property redevelopment

The City of Ryde has resolved to enter into a procurement process to allow for the redevelopment of the property including council offices and car parks.

Newington. Base in Las Vegas

Ainsworth Game Technology, based in Newington, plans to sell poker machines in Nevada, and is in the process of establishing a development and manufacturing base in Las Vegas

Region. Deals done

Liverpool City Council has purchased 3343 square-metre commercial zoned site, in Scott Street, Liverpool for $10.25 million from Gazcon. A private investor has paid $3.62 million for a modern industrial property, in Lidcombe, leased to Australian Reinforcing Company, a subsidiary of ASX-listed One Steel. Carvet has paid $2.68 million to PPB for an industrial property, at Wetherill Park, leased to Hafele Australia for three years.

North Ryde, Vale John Lincoln

Emeritus Deputy Chancellor Judge, John Lincoln, has passed away, at the age of 95. Judge Lincoln was a key figure in the establishment of Macquarie University and was one of its elder statesmen. He was a member of the university council from 1964 to 2009, Deputy Chancellor from 1976 to 2000 and became Emeritus Deputy Chancellor in 2000.
