North West. Department auctions sites

The Department of Education and Training will auction surplus sites and Stanhope Gardens and Glenwood, on November 12. Both sites – Stanhope, 3.04 hectares and Glenwood, 3.25 hectares – allow for use of residential lots to medium density housing, subject to approval, and are cleared for development in growth areas.

Penrith. Economic body has new plan

The Penrith Valley Economic Development Corporation has adopted a new five-year strategic plan. By 2014, the PVEDC sees itself as a "highly effective architect and first port of call for sustainable growth in the Penrith region". The corporation is finalising a Deed of Agreement with council which requires the PVEDC to support the creation of 40,000 jobs by 2031. The plan will be officially launched on December 3 under the corporation’s new name and logo. Paul Brennan, PVEDC chairman, said the plan’s adoption was a major milestone for the revamped organisation.
