Riverstone. $1b business park exhibition ends

The public exhibition of the proposed $1 billion Riverstone West Precinct the first employment-focused precinct in the NSW Government growth centres, ends on April 15The precinct is proposed to provide enough land for 12,000 jobs via light industrial and general industrial lands and a proposed business park adjacent to the Riverstone Rail Station. The proposal includes up to 250,000 square metres of commercial office floorspace, around 500,000 square metres of industrial floorspace, and a freight transfer facility.

Bankstown. School proposed at airport

Bankstown Airport has submitted a development application to Bankstown City Council for a school project in its northern business park. The land has been identified in the airport master plan as being suitable for non-aviation activity. The DA considers matters such as road access, traffic management and community impact.

Parramatta. $4 million hotel upgrade

Argos Investments Pty Ltd proposes an estimated $4 million upgrade of the Commercial Hotel, in Hassall Street, in the CBD, including alterations and additions to the heritage-listed building such as to the internal layout, ground floor extension and the conversion of the first floor manager’s residence to a bistro and bar area. Council will consider the DA at its meeting on April 14.

Westmead. $40m project recommended

Parramatta City Council will consider the recommendation, at its meeting on April 14, to approve the $40 million education project, at Westmead, which includes demolition, alterations and additions to Catherine McAuley and Parramatta Marist high schools, and the construction of a primary school for 420 students and an out-of-school-hours centre for 50 students.

Parramatta. $65 million office tower

Eureka 2 Project 10 Pty Limited proposes the construction of a 14 storey commercial office tower comprising two basement car parking levels for 147 vehicles, ground floor cafe and up to six retail tenancies, with associated site works and landscaping, at 109 George Street, in the eastern precinct of the CBD. The estimated cost of construction is $65 million. Parramatta City Council will consider a recommendation for approval at its meeting on April 14.
