Parramatta. $65 million CBD office building

Eureka 2 Project 10 Pty Limited has lodged an application for the construction of a $65 million, 14-storey commercial office tower comprising two basement carparking levels, ground floor cafe and up to six retail tenancies with associated site works and landscaping, on a vacant site at 109 113 George Street.

Parramatta. Council to continue ferry fight

Parramatta City Council will continue to fight for the expansion of the Parramatta RiverCat service and lobby the State Government following Nathan Rees becoming premier. “Mr Rees (MP for Toongabbie) well understands the importance of the RiverCat not only as a tourist service but also as a transport solution,” Lord Mayor, Paul Barber. "Our focus is to find out the true environmental impact of the RiverCat on the Parramatta River. Once we have acquired all the data, we will provide the Premier with key recommendations on the most appropriate vessel to replace the current aging RiverCats and make it a true commuter service," he said. The State Government-commissioned Walker Report recommended last year that the current RiverCat service be terminated at Rydalmere yet revealed it had inadequate and incorrect data on levels of patronage.

Oatlands. Tourist facility withdrawn

Babindo Pty Limited has withdrawn an application for a proposed tourist facility comprising restoration of the heritage-listed Oatlands House, at 42 Bettington Road, Oatlands. including demolition of the existing function rooms to the rear and continued use of the building as a 60-seat restaurant and construction of a single storey function centre for 336 persons (the existing function centre caters for 550 persons) over two levels of basement carparking for 112 vehicles. Approval was also sought for the construction of a part two- and part three-storey motel containing 98 rooms and a swimming pool over basement carparking for 84 vehicles.

Parramatta. CBD hotel application refused

An application by Southern Cross Group has been refused for the demolition of the existing heritage listed hall and the restoration of the heritage-listed St Peters Uniting Church, at 356 Church Street, for use as a restaurant/bar and construction of a 13-storey hotel, containing 50 hotel rooms, conference facilities, gym, pool, & bar over basement car parking for 54 vehicles.

Parramatta. Trivett leases at Rydalmere

The Trivett Group, based in Church Street, Parramatta, has signed an 11-year lease on a 5900-square-metre property, at the Cumberland Green Industrial Park, at 2-8 South Street, Rydalmere, for use as its NSW parts warehouse. Colonial First State Global Asset Management’s Direct Property Investment Fund owns the park.
